Microsoft Edge users: install WideView Web Video Pro 3.2.1 from Edge Add-ons (Get works in Edge). Sideload the 3.2.1 zips for Chrome, Brave, Firefox, Safari, or Edge if you prefer Load unpacked. Firefox AMO 3.2.1 is still awaiting Mozilla review and is not public. Chrome Web Store and signed Safari stay parked until the developer fees are paid. Full Windows matrix verification is still in progress.

Start watching

  1. Install the package for your browser using the steps below. Disable older WideView versions first.
  2. Allow WideView access to the video website and any embedded video domains, then refresh the page and start playback.
  3. Open WideView from your browser toolbar. Choose one detected video or all videos in the tab. Enable “Automatically apply my picture mode” to use the same mode across tabs and restarts in that browser. You can also opt into automatic Fill on installation. Set this separately in each browser.
  4. Select Fill or Stretch. Use the website’s fullscreen button to fill your display. Select Original to restore the player.

Alt/Option + Shift + W cycles modes. Alt/Option + Shift + R resets the focused video frame. Use the popup controls if your system intercepts the shortcut.

Works with accessible HTML video players. It cannot control native apps, browser-protected pages, closed shadow-root players, or players drawn without a video element. Some protected streaming players and custom fullscreen modes may not respond. Fill crops inside the existing player; it does not increase video quality.

Chrome, Brave & Edge

Use the same browser-specific package on Mac or Windows.

  1. Extract the downloaded ZIP and keep the folder.
  2. Open chrome://extensions, brave://extensions, or edge://extensions.
  3. Enable Developer mode, choose Load unpacked, and select the folder containing manifest.json.

Managed computers may block development extensions. These packages are not Windows installers.

Firefox · Mac & Windows

  1. Extract the Firefox ZIP.
  2. Open about:debugging#/runtime/this-firefox.
  3. Select Load Temporary Add-on and choose manifest.json.

Temporary Firefox installs are removed on restart. Signed AMO 3.2.1 is in Mozilla review and is not public yet.

Safari · Mac only

  1. In Safari Settings → Advanced, enable Show features for web developers.
  2. Open Developer → Add Temporary Extension and choose the Safari ZIP.
  3. Enable WideView in Extensions and approve website access.

Temporary Safari extensions expire after 24 hours or when Safari quits. If your version lacks this menu option, this installation method is unavailable. Permanent distribution requires Apple enrollment and review.

Manage or cancel an existing trial

How it works

  1. Save your private recovery file, then enter card details securely with Stripe.
  2. Return to WideView to activate the trial. We show your exact trial-end time.
  3. Import your code into the matching Pro extension.
  4. Cancel from Manage trial before the end to avoid the charge. Otherwise Stripe attempts a single $2.99 payment and Pro stays unlocked once payment succeeds.

A bank may require extra authentication. In that case, Pro pauses after the trial until payment succeeds. Support: chalbidu@gmail.com.

Your card details are handled by Stripe. Save your recovery file to manage or cancel your trial.

Typical store resize tools are free-with-unclear-monetization or Chromium-only. WideView keeps Original free forever, unlocks Fill / Stretch / zoom / three presets for $2.99 once after a 3-day trial, and gives you a recovery file so Pro can be restored without guessing.

Chrome Web Store and signed Safari are not listed yet (they charge a developer fee). Microsoft Edge users can install from Edge Add-ons. Firefox AMO 3.2.1 is still in Mozilla review. Chrome, Brave, Edge, Firefox, and Safari Mac packs remain as sideload downloads.

Honest limits

Works with accessible HTML video players, including YouTube and many embeds. Cannot control native apps, browser-protected pages, closed shadow-root players, or canvas-only players. Fill crops inside the existing player; it does not invent resolution.

Know what changes.

Fill crops picture edges. Stretch changes proportions. Neither increases source resolution. Other video-resizing extensions may interfere.

Privacy, simply.

The web player uses your selected file locally; it does not upload it. WideView adds no analytics. The browser extension reads video elements on websites you allow and changes their display styles. Presets stay on your device; the free beta sends no browsing history, video URLs, or video content to our server. License verification in separate Pro builds sends your activation code to our server to check its payment status. The hosting provider may process routine connection logs. Card setup sends the information you enter to Stripe. The recovery code is kept in this browser tab’s session storage and in the recovery file you download. Trial and payment records are stored with Stripe. WideView does not receive card numbers.
